To whom it may concern,
With this letter I would like to explain an incident which took place on a VR train from Tampere to Pori. It was my first trip to Finland in my whole life. I went form Tampere airport to downtown, where I bought a ticket to go to Pori. I’m a student from Spain, and I’m currently studying Management and Research in Business Communication, at the University of King Juan Carlos. So I bought a student ticket using your ticket machine, at Tampere train station. There was not any information about the requirement of the student concession, either on the ticket or on the screen (please find the ticket inside this envelope). When the supervisor asked for my ticket, I showed it to him, together with my student card. He said very rudely that I should buy a new ticket, because I’m not a student from Finland. Then I proposed to pay the difference between both tickets. He didn’t just reply and ordered me to get off the train in the next stop. So there he took my luggage with violence and ordered me once again to get off the train, in an isolated area, where I did refuse to get off without police involvement. At Vamalla station we were waiting for the police with the train full a passengers. When the police came, I agreed to pay the new ticket to avoid further inconvenience for the passengers.
So I want to get my money back with a compensation for the damage and the delay during this awful experience due to you lack of information, both on the screen and on the ticket itself. Also, I consider it the worst customer experience that I have ever lived. I think it was an overreaction on the part of the supervisor; he treated me rudely just because of this misunderstanding about the students fares. I can only say that I feel very disappointed and frustrated with my experience in Finland.
